2. Summary

We built this App with privacy as a core principle:

  • We do not collect personally identifiable information to operate the App’s core remote control functionality.
  • We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details.
  • Device pairing and remote control commands are processed on your device or sent directly to your hardware over your local network.

3. Information We Process

3.1 Information Processed Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following information locally on your device only:

  • Configured device profiles (e.g., TV brand, model, custom button layouts)
  • Paired device identifiers (IP addresses or device IDs on your local network)
  • App settings and preferences (e.g., dark mode, language)
  • Favorite buttons and custom shortcuts

This data does not leave your device. We have no access to it.

3.2 Subscription and Purchase Information

If you purchase a Pro subscription or other in-app purchase:

  • Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. We receive an anonymized transaction receipt from Apple to verify your subscription status.
  • We do not receive your name, email address, payment card details, or billing address from Apple.
  • Apple’s handling of your payment information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Legal basis: Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

3.3 Diagnostic and Crash Data

If you have opted in via your iOS Settings to share diagnostic data with app developers, Apple may provide us with anonymized, aggregated crash reports through Apple’s standard diagnostic system. This data does not identify you individually and is used solely to fix bugs and improve App stability.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest in maintaining a functional App (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You may opt out at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

3.4 Support Communications

If you contact us by email for support, we will receive and process the information you voluntarily provide (e.g., your email address, the content of your message, optional device or app version information you share). We use this only to respond to your inquiry.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest in providing customer support (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Support emails are retained for up to 24 months for quality and reference purposes, then deleted.

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

To be explicit, we do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address (unless you contact us voluntarily)
  • Your precise or approximate location
  • Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA)
  • Browsing history, app usage analytics, or behavioral data
  • Contacts, photos, calendar, or other device content
  • Content of TV channels, streaming services, or any media you control

5. Network Permissions

To control devices on your local network, the App requires permission to communicate over your Wi-Fi network and, where applicable, Bluetooth. These communications happen directly between your iPhone and your hardware (e.g., your TV or soundbar). No remote control commands are routed through our servers.

The first time you use a local network feature, iOS will ask you to grant Local Network permission. You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third parties to operate the App:

ServicePurposeData Shared
Apple App StoreDistribution, payments, subscriptionsHandled entirely by Apple per Apple’s Privacy Policy

We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Meta SDK, AdMob, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, or any comparable third-party tracking or analytics service.

7. International Data Transfers

We are based in Germany. Where Apple processes data on our behalf (e.g., App Store transactions, anonymized crash logs), Apple may transfer such data to the United States and other countries under appropriate safeguards (Apple’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent). See Apple’s Privacy Policy for details.

8. Data Retention

  • Locally stored data: Retained on your device until you delete the App or clear app data.
  • Subscription receipts: Retained for the duration of your subscription plus the statutory retention period required by German tax and commercial law (up to 10 years per § 147 AO and § 257 HGB).
  • Support emails: Up to 24 months, then deleted.
